The Global Region Artifact (protection_global) is a special entry that applies its flags to an entire world (or all worlds by default). It is used to define “server-wide” defaults like disabling mob griefing or enabling PvP everywhere.

How it Works

The Global Artifact has the lowest priority (fallback). If a player is in a specific region, that region’s flags will override the Global Artifact. If they are in the “wilderness” (no specific region), the Global Artifact’s rules apply.

Example Use Cases

  • Wilderness Protection: Prevent all building unless inside a specific region.
  • Global Mechanics: Disable phantom spawns or fire spread server-wide.
  • Safety: Enabling fall-damage: false globally for a hub world.
